Tyler Ellis and Kelsea Richmond arrived in Monterey in October 2017 after a year on the road in an RV, and were running the shop when a planned sale to Cat & Cloud collapsed and it closed in July 2018. It reopened on July 19 with the pair as owners, after a deal with the founders, and a regular roasting program for single origins.
By 2023 a second shop had opened in Pacific Grove. The roastery describes its sourcing as direct trade, and its merch sales help fund staff trips to origin. In October 2026 its online shop lists Colombian lots from El Diviso and Huila.
